What are cell therapies, and how do they work?

Cell therapies are designed to replace or repair diseased or damaged cells or tissue within a person’s body to help treat a disease or condition. Many different types of cells can be used for a potential cell therapy, from blood cells to neurons and pancreatic islet cells.
